Loose, aged or poorly crimped MC4 connectors arc and overheat, and on a rooftop that ignition can spread fast. Protecting the array means protecting the connections, not just the panels.

How Fipron Canarias protects the array

The Fipron Box encloses each MC4 connection in fire-resistant housing with an integrated Fipron Cord. Any ignition is suppressed at the source, while the sealed enclosure shields the joint from dust, moisture, UV and mechanical stress. It handles DC PV up to 1,500 V and is maintenance-free indoors or out.

MC4 connector fire test

An MC4 solar connector is made to fault and ignite inside a Fipron Box. The sealed, fire-resistant housing contains the flames while the integrated Fipron Cord activates — releasing its extinguishing agent at the seat of the fire to suppress it inside the box and stop it reaching the array or roof.
